From Removal to Sealed Entry Points: Our Full Process
Trapping an animal and leaving the entry point open is an incomplete fix. Our wildlife exterminator and pest control team handle the entire job from initial assessment through comprehensive exclusion work, so the same animal is less likely to return through the same gap.
Here’s how the process works:
- Full property inspection: We locate active entry points and nesting areas before work begins, not after.
- Humane removal: Animals are removed safely in compliance with local regulations. Methods are matched to the species and the situation.
- Entry point sealing: Access areas are sealed after removal as part of our process, backed by our “No Wildlife. Guaranteed.” commitment.
- Follow-up inspection: We return to confirm no remaining activity once exclusion work is complete.
We handle bats, opossums, raccoons, squirrels, and more. Attics, crawl spaces, and other structural areas where animals nest receive direct treatment as part of the process.
Local Knowledge, Proven Methods
Our technicians know the seasonal patterns, common entry points, and wildlife pressure typical of the homes and properties in the area they serve. That familiarity shapes where we check first and how we approach each inspection. Removal and exclusion are performed to regulatory standards by trained technicians equipped to handle a wide range of species.
Wildlife removal isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our approach is built on proven techniques developed for the structural, health, and safety risks that nuisance wildlife create in residential settings.

Michigan Wildlife Removal Regulations
Michigan regulates who can remove nuisance wildlife and how. Commercial operators who remove certain species, including bats, are required to hold a Wildlife Damage and Nuisance Control Permit issued by the Michigan DNR. The permit covers a range of species eligible for nuisance removal, including bats, raccoons, squirrels, opossums, skunks, woodchucks, and muskrats.
Bat Exclusion Rules
Bats are a protected species in Michigan, and lethal control is generally not permitted except for human safety issues. Removal is handled through humane, non-lethal exclusion rather than trapping or killing. There’s also a timing restriction: the Michigan DNR advises against exclusion work during the maternity season, typically May through mid-August. Excluding adult bats during this window can trap flightless pups inside the structure, which is both a welfare concern and a regulatory issue.
Where Wildlife Enters Grand Haven Homes
Raccoons and squirrels are strong climbers and persistent denners. They commonly target attic spaces and chimneys, particularly in fall as temperatures drop and again in spring when females seek sheltered nesting sites. Opossums behave differently: they tend to shelter under decks, porches, and sheds rather than pushing into a home’s interior.
Once an animal finds a way in, that entry point tends to get reused. Scent marking, worn edges, and easy access all draw wildlife back to the same gap. Trapping without sealing that opening is a temporary fix.
